Dr. Alexandru Deaconu, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist specialized in interventional cardiac electrophysiology. He currently works as a cardiology consultant at the Emergency Hospital of Bucharest and serves as Senior Lecturer at the 'Carol Davila' University of Medicine and Pharmacy. His clinical expertise covers interventional electrophysiology, cardiac pacing and advanced echocardiography. Dr. Deaconu has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including contributions on ventricular arrhythmia ablation and atrial fibrillation ablation. He is a EHRA certified Level 2 interventional electrophysiologist and a active member of several professional societies, including the European Society of Cardiology, the European Heart Rhythm Association, and the Romanian Society of Cardiology. He currently serves as Romanian Ambassador for the EHRA Young Electrophysiologists for the period 2024-2026.
