Marta Vallverdú-Prats is a PhD student in the Cardiovascular Genetics Group located at the Institut d’Investigadció Biomèdica de Girona (IDIBGI). She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Genetics from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 2015. In 2016, she obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Analyses Laboratory from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Nowadays, she is working on improving the understanding of the molecular basis of Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy (ACM) as part of her PhD thesis. She has experience in cell cultures, editing genomic techniques, Western Blots and qPCR. Currently, from September 2021 until January 2022, she is a visiting student in the Cardiac Proteomics Group located at the University of Copenhagen performing and learning new techniques to study oxidation of proteins. Moreover, she is a member of the group working on the Cellular Biology of the Heart in the European Society of Cardiology.
