Santiago Fajardo is a Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at the CENIM-CSIC since 2021. Graduated in Chemistry, he completed his PhD on the corrosion of stainless steel under the supervision of Prof. J.M. Bastidas in the Department of Surface Engineering, Corrosion and Durability (ISCD) at the CENIM-CSIC. In 2014 he joined the Fontana Corrosion Center at the Ohio State University as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Gerald S. Frankel. While at OSU, Dr. Fajardo consolidated a new research line on dissolving Mg surfaces. His primary interest is in advanced light alloys, and more specifically, he leads a research line on the dissolution mechanisms of Mg alloys and the anomalous behavior of hydrogen evolution on dissolving Mg surfaces. He is author of 43 scientific papers, 5 book chapters, and several scientific-technical reports. He has participated in 14 R&D projects (3 as PI). His articles have received 1410 citations, and his h-index is 19.
