M.S.I. Chowdhury is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute (MMRI) and a faculty member at the W Booth School of Engineering Practice and Technology, McMaster University. He earned both his PhD and MASc in mechanical engineering from McMaster University. Before joining McMaster, Dr. Chowdhury served as a lecturer at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Bangladesh for around four years, where he developed a solid foundation in both teaching and research. He has extensive experience in machining processes and the development of advanced tool coatings. His research interests are primarily focused on manufacturing engineering, with a special emphasis on tool design and the application of physical vapor deposition (PVD) coatings to enhance tool performance and durability.
