Dr. Iosif Sifakakis is Assistant Professor in Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He graduated in 1995 from the Dental School of the University of Athens. From 1998 to 2001, he completed his postgraduate studies in Orthodontics and Oral Biology at the same Dental School. His doctorate was a collaboration between the Departments of Biomaterials, Dental School, University of Athens, Greece and Oral Technology, University of Bonn, Germany. His dissertation was focused on orthodontic biomechanics. He received a research grant for academics from the German Academic Exchange Service. He is the primary investigator of the 2017 and the co-investigator of the 2018 Align Technology Global Funding awarded towards advancing orthodontic and dental research. Dr. Sifakakis is the author/coauthor of more than 50 peer reviewed publications and 10 book chapters and he has presented in more than 40 scientific events. His areas of scientific interest include orthodontic biomechanics and biomaterials.
