Oleksii Marushchak currently works as junior researcher in the department of animal monitoring and conservation at I. I. Schmalhausen institute of zoology, NAS Ukraine, and is a 4th year PhD student at the same institute. In 2017, they obtained a master’s degree in "biology" in the direction "zoology" (awarded with a red diploma). Additionally, since 2017, they have worked as a Head of the Research and Development Department of BION Terrarium Center, Kyiv, Ukraine. Marushchak is a valid member of the Ukrainian herpetological society and the NGO "Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group". Their research interests include herpetology, herpetoculture, GIS modeling, phaunistics, nature conservations, Emerald Network, batrachology, languages, morphometrics.
