Biography

Gleb S. Pokrovski is a CNRS research director at the Laboratory Géosciences Environnement Toulouse (France). He earned an MSc in geology from Moscow State University (Russia) and a PhD in geochemistry from the University of Toulouse (France), after which he took on a researcher position at the CNRS in Orléans (France) and later moved to Toulouse. His main expertise is experimental geochemistry, focusing on the acquisition of chemical, structural, and thermodynamic data on metals and volatiles and mineral solubilities in geological fluids across the lithosphere. His work combines experimental approaches with physical–chemical modeling of fluid–rock interactions and diverse analytical techniques (including in-situ spectroscopy) for characterizing both synthetic and natural mineral and fluid samples, with applications to ore deposits and stable isotope geochemistry.
