Robert J. Flatt is Professor for Physical Chemistry of Building Materials at ETH Zürich. One of his main research topics is chemical admixtures and their working mechanisms, a field to which he has contributed numerous publications. He co-authored the book “Science and Technology of Concrete Admixtures” and is currently editor-in-chief of Cement and Concrete Research. He is also very active in digital fabrication, notably as deputy director of the Swiss National Competence Centre for Research.
