Prof. Dr. Renato Bernardini graduated cum laude in medicine and surgery in 1980 and is a specialist in endocrinology. He was a fellow at the Weizmann Institute (1983-1984) and a Fogarty Fellow at the NIH (1985-1989). He has been tenured at the University of Catania since 1989 as a graduate technician, associate (1992), and, since 2001, as a full professor of pharmacology. He coordinated the PhD in preclinical and clinical pharmacology (1994-2012) and directs the School of Specialization in Pharmacology and Clinical Toxicology, as well as the U.O. of Clinical Toxicology in the Policlinico. From 2005 to 2018, he worked for the Minister of Health as an expert at AIFA, ISS, and DG Medical Devices. He is a member of the Superior Health Council, which was appointed by the Minister.
