Renaud Tamisier is a Professor of Clinical Physiology at Grenoble Alpes University and is a Member of the clinical research team at HP2 Laboratory (Hypoxia Pathophysiology: cardiovascular consequences of intermittent hypoxia) INSERM U1300 and the Clinic of Physiology, Sleep and Exercise at Grenoble University Hospital. He graduated in Pulmonary Medicine (1998) and in Sleep Medicine (2000), completed his PhD in 2001, and earned a Master of Business and Administration (MBA) in 2018. He has produced more than 160 international articles in the last 20 years and published in the best journals in the respiratory and sleep fields. His main topics for research and teaching are clinical research on cardiovascular consequences associated with chronic and intermittent hypoxia, sleep apnea, COPD, chronic respiratory failure, and non-invasive ventilation. His particular research focuses on pathophysiological mechanisms that lead to sympatho-excitation following intermittent hypoxia in healthy humans and patients with chronic diseases.
