Anca Mazare received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Politechnica University of Bucharest, Romania, in 2012. Following that, she joined Prof. Schmuki’s group at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, as a postdoctoral fellow, where she has been working on the synthesis and modification of semiconductor nanomaterials for biomedical and energy-related applications. In September 2021-February 2022 and April 2022-present, she has also been a visiting associate professor at AIMR, Tohoku Universiy. Her research interests also include novel fabrication methods for oxides and nitrides, the novel nanostructuring of metals and various alloys either in bulk or thin films, as well as the detailed structural characterization of films and interfaces.
