Dr. McCord is a Chemist as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, with a research focus on investigations of emerging contaminants. He applies high-resolution mass spectrometry to the discovery and characterization of novel chemical pollutants and chemical biomarkers, and develops traditional quantitative methods for analyte monitoring. His recent research has been in the characterization of per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) in water, soil, and affected biota.
