Biography

Ivan Kristof obtained his bio-engineer MSc degree from Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2002 and his info-bionics Ph.D. degree from Pázmány University under the supervision of Prof. Zoltán Noszticzius and Prof. Henrik Farkas. During his PhD he worked on nonlinear phenomena in the electrolyte diode system, also with MEMS components. He then moved to Pázmány University as a post-doc and turned to microfluidic research. Later he established a biomicrofluidics lab with the aim of developing complex rapid test devices with low cost fabrication methods. He was visiting researcher in Ronald Siegel’s lab at University of Minnesota, and also a Fulbright Scholar at UC Berkeley under the supervision of prof. Luke P. Lee. He is currently associate professor at Pázmány University responsible for the bionics curriculum and the Biomicrofluidics lab. His research interests are passive and active particle separation methods for sample preparation, molecular diagnostic methods for food safety applications, disposable complex microfluidic solutions for diagnostic methods.
