Biography

I am an Associate Professor of Immunology (General Pathology) at the University of Torino, Medical School, and carry out my research activities in the Laboratory of Immunology, Department of Molecular Biotechnology and Health Sciences, situated in the Molecular Biotechnology Center, Via Nizza 52, Torino, Italy. My research and academic interest are mainly based on basic and translational cancer immunotherapy. During my career, I have been focused on the study of transgenic mouse models of cancer, in the identification of oncoantigens to be used as target for immunotherapy, in DNA vaccination, in testing new adjuvants and immunomodulators to be used in combination with DNA vaccines against oncoantigens, in the identification of miRNA involved in breast tumor progression and metastatisation, in the identification of oncoantigens expressed by non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) to be used as potential anti-tumor targets for DNA vaccination and, recently, in the identification of oncoantigens expressed on triple-negative breast cancers cells to be used as targets for the complete cancer eradication.
