I am a plant virologist by formation. My expertise can be summarised into detection characterisation and control of plant-infecting viruses. I have used biological, serological, molecular and genomics tools to detect, identify and characterise virus-infecting vegetables from various genera which of two have been recognised as novel species. I would like to use my knowledge to help people and communities achieve food security and improve nutrition.
