Jiyoon Yang is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Korea University and is working as a researcher at the National Institute of Forest Science. Her major area of study is plant molecular biology, particularly in the functions of plant secondary metabolites. Her research focuses on exploring the potentiality of essential oils as fuctional ingredients by examining the physichcemical properties and bioactivities of essential oils. Furthermore, she intends to study fuctional materials by modifying the components in essential oils. Her research goals are to increase the high value-added of forest resources and develop sustainable, eco-friendly materials.
