Dr. Vangelis Marinakis is an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is an Electrical and Computer Engineer of NTUA and holds a PhD in the research domain of decision support systems for sustainable energy planning (ECE, NTUA). His research is focused on the design and development of methodologies and decision support systems, using leading-edge ICT technologies (Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and big data), for intelligent energy management at different levels (Smart Homes, Smart Buildings, Smart Cities, and Smart Districts), as well as increased energy efficiency gains and renewables. In the abovementioned fields, Dr. Marinakis has worked on more than 25 European (Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, FP7, IEE, etc.) and national co-funded projects. He has more than 50 scientific publications in international scientific journals with reviewers and book chapters, as well as numerous publications/announcements at national and international conferences.
