Mariann Harangi is an internist, a diabetologist, and an endocrinologist. She received her MD from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Debrecen in 1998, and her Ph.D. from the University of Debrecen in 2003. She is a full professor at the Division of Metabolic Diseases, Department of Internal Medicine, University of Debrecen. She also leads the outpatient clinic of lipidology. She focuses on familiar hypercholesterolemia, inherited disturbances of cholesterol biosynthesis, the non-lipid effects of lipid-reducing therapy, the role of adipokines, novel vascular factors in atherosclerosis, and rare, inherited dyslipidemias.
