Denis Alan Leahy received his PhD in Physics from the University of British Columbia in 1980, and is now a Professor at the University of Calgary in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. He worked as a post-doctoral fellow at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (1980-1982). In 1982, he moved to the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Calgary as a post-doctoral fellow until July 1, 1983, at which time he was promoted to Assistant Professor. Research topics mainly include: X-ray astronomy of compact objects and supernova remnants, radio observations of supernova remnants, support for development of the UVIT instrument on Astrosat, and analysis of Astrosat observations with UVIT and X-ray instruments.
