Dr. Andrea Palermo

Dr. Andrea Palermo is an endocrinologist at the University Campus Bio-Medico (Rome, Italy). He graduated in July 2006, and he attended a residency program in Endocrinology and Metabolism at University Campus Bio-Medico. Successively, he began his PhD course in the field of Endocrinology at the same institution, focusing on the interplay between bone and glucose metabolism, the study of calcium and bone metabolism, and new diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of clinical and subclinical forms of parathyroid gland diseases. He has won awards for his research at national and international meetings (ECTS Lain T. Boyle Award, Young Investigator Award from ASBMR, and Endocrine Society). He is a member of the Clinical Practice Action Group of the ECTS and an advisory board member of the Forum in Bone and Mineral Research. He is a member of the Editorial Board of JBMR Plus and an associate editor of the International Journal of Endocrinology.
