Despina-Maria Bordean studied chemistry engineering at the Polytechnic University of Timişoara, from where she obtained a diploma in chemistry engineering. A few years later, she obtained a postgraduate diploma in pollution, environmental protection, and management from Transylvania University, Brasov, a master’s degree and a PhD in agriculture from Banat’s University of Agricultural Science and Veterinary Medicine Timisoara, Romania. From 1996 to the present, she has worked in research and education at the University of Life Sciences "King Michael I” from Timisoara, known until 2022 as Banat’s University of Agricultural Science and Veterinary Medicine Timisoara, Romania. Since 2017, she has been an associated professor in the fields of ecology, environmental protection, and food analysis. She has published more than 100 scientific papers, 8 books, and book chapters in her research and study field. Together with her teams, she has obtained 25 national and international awards.
