Marialaura Bonaccio received her PhD degree in Epidemiology at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands. She authored numerous publications aimed at understanding the impact of the economic crisis in the modification of adherence to the Mediterranean diet that were also funded by the Ministry of Health and the Umberto Veronesi Foundation. Currently, her research activity at the Department of Epidemiology and Prevention of IRCCS NEUROMED is focused on the diet-disease relationship with a specific focus on food origin, including industrial processing.
