Dr. Jody Hobson-Peters is an associate professor at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences, the University of Queensland. She obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the Queensland University of Technology. She began her career working in industry for a company that specializes in in vitro diagnostic assays for both human and veterinary health (AGEN Biomedical). There, she worked as a scientist for almost a decade in numerous departments of the commercialisation pipeline, including manufacturing, product development, and research. Following this, she completed her Ph.D. (2010) with the Australian Biosecurity Co-Operative Research Centre for Emerging Infectious Disease and has since worked as a virologist at the University of Queensland. Her current research focuses on mosquito-borne virus discovery and the development of innovative vaccine and diagnostic platforms.
