I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. My work focuses on medical microbiology, with particular interest in antimicrobial resistance, biofilm-associated infections, and rare or unusual pathogens such as Yokenella regensburgei and Colpoda spp. In my research, I combine traditional microbiological techniques with molecular methods like 16S rRNA sequencing and CRISPR-Cas system profiling, aiming to improve diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic strategies in infectious diseases. I have authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications and participate in both national and international research projects. Besides my research activity, I am also actively involved in teaching and in communicating science to a broader audience, with the goal of raising awareness about the importance of microbiology in modern medicine. https://www.instagram.com/microbiology.cluj/
