Ioana Adriana Muntean is an associate professor at the “Iuliu Hatieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Department of Allergology and Immunology. She is working as an allergology and clinical immunology physician at the “Octavian Fodor” Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Allergology Department, Cluj Napoca, Romania. She graduated from “Iuliu Hatieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2001. She worked as a resident doctor from 2002 to 2007. In 2007, when she earned her degree with an allergology and clinical immunology specialty, she began to work as an allergology and clinical immunology physician at the “Octavian Fodor” Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Allergology Department, Cluj Napoca, Romania. In 2011, she took a Ph.D. degree course in the field of allergology and immunology, with an area of interest in “inflammation in allergic diseases”. Her areas of current and previous research include allergic diseases, inflammatory processes, allergic rhinitis, asthma, chronic urticaria, and food allergies. She is one of the vice presidents of the Romanian Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, and is a member of the World Allergy Organization and the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology.
