Prof. Dr. Henk A. Marquering is a professor of Radiology, in
particular Translational Artificial Intelligence at Amsterdam University
Medical Center, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He is also the co-founder and
chief science officer at inSteps. Prof. Marquering holds a PhD in Geophysics
from Utrecht University in 1995. His research centers on the application of
Artificial Intelligence on medical image analyses, and 3D and 4D cardiovascular
images in particular. The research encompasses GOFAI (good old-fashioned
artificial intelligence) and deep learning/convolutional neural
network approaches. A strong focus is on neurovascular image analysis for
diagnosis, prognostics, and treatment decision support of patients suffering
from (acute ischemic or hemorrhagic) stroke.
