She got her Bachelor’s degree (Science in Biotechnology) at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Bangkok, THAILAND, Master’s degree (Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering) at Mahidol University, Bangkok, THAILAND and PhD (Life and Biomolecular Sciences) at The Open University, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. During the past 20 years, she has been a part of fever and sepsis research networks leading the molecular diagnosis team in the development and validation of assays screening infection diseases in tropical regions, including leptospirosis, melioidosis, rickettsiosis, scrub typhus and TB. She and her team are developing nucleic acid amplification tests to cover most pathogen genetic variants in South and Southeast Asia and to be cost-effective for patients in resource-limited areas. Currently, she leads the molecular assay team of the South and Southeast Asian Community-based Trails Network (SEACTN)(www.seactn.org).
