Biologist specialized in food safety control, specifically in the development and validation of laboratory procedures for persistent organic contaminants by GC, HPLC, GC–MS/MS, and LC–MS/MS. Good knowledge of the institutional and European legal framework of food safety control. Skilled in international accreditation processes following ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and in statistical methods applied to the validation and quality control of analytical data. Involved in research activities aiming to assess the low background levels of emerging organic contaminants in the environment using biota as bio-indicators. On-going education achieved by participating in national and international conferences and training courses, mostly on analytical chemistry techniques and on organic contaminant control in food and feed. Lecturer in several training courses of the national health system, dealing mainly with environmental contaminant residues in food and feed. Author or co-author of several scientific publications (international or national journals and conference proceedings), mostly on analytical chemistry applied to food safety.
