Vítor Carvalho obtained the Habilitation title in Electrotechnics Engineering in 2024 and received his PhD in industrial electronics and industrial informatics in 2008. He is currently working as an associate (tenured) professor with habilitation at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), Barcelos, Portugal, and as an integrated researcher in the Applied Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at IPCA and collaborator of the Algoritmi Research Center at Minho University. He is also the Dean of the School of Technology at IPCA. His main fields of interest relate to data acquisition systems, serious games, and machine learning. He has published more than 200 papers and is also a member of the editorial board of several international conferences and journals. He has supervised several PhD and Master’s students, as well as coordinated and participated in funded projects in his related fields of interest.
