Xu Yongjiang, Ph.D, is professor and director of the Division of Fish Culture and Engineering, Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences. He was awarded his Ph.D degree in marine biology from Ocean University of China in 2012, and has been working in the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences since 2003. Furthermore, he worked as a visiting scholar in Ohio State University in the USA from 2008 to 2009. He is dedicated to and is professional in fish reproductive biology, physiology, endocrinology, and open ocean aquaculture technology. He obtained great progress in reproductive control and massive culture technologies for over 15 fish species including tongue sole, southern flounder, spotted halibut, starry flounder, rock bream, pacific cod, yellowtail kingfish, etc., which supported fast and sustainable development of fish culture industry and stock enhancement in China. He has led more than 30 national and provincial scientific projects in the fish culture area. He has published over 130 peer reviewed papers, obtained 12 items of patents and five items of Computer Software Copyright, and published 10 books. His accomplishments in fish culture and enhancement have received seven S&T awards from the China government.
