I. C. N. interdisciplinary background shows a high interest in the evaluation and monitoring of natural hazards (landslides, gully erosion, coastal erosion) with direct effects on the immovable cultural heritage. Also, he has been preoccupied in understanding the dynamics of Neolithic people within small catchments in the North-eastern part of Romania; this resulted in publishing his PhD thesis with Springer International Publishing.
