Currently, rapidly developing digital technological innovations affect and change the integrated information management processes of all sectors. The high efficiency of these innovations has inevitably pushed the health sector into a digital transformation process to optimize the technologies and methodologies used to optimize healthcare management systems. In this transformation, the Internet of Things (IoT) technology plays an important role, which enables many devices to connect and work together. IoT allows systems to work together using sensors, connection methods, internet protocols, databases, cloud computing, and analytic as infrastructure. In this respect, it is necessary to establish the necessary technical infrastructure and a suitable environment for the development of smart hospitals. This study points out the optimization factors, challenges, available technologies, and opportunities, as well as the system architecture that come about by employing IoT technology in smart hospital environments. In order to do that, the required technical infrastructure is divided into five layers and the system infrastructure, constraints, and methods needed in each layer are specified, which also includes the smart hospital’s dimensions and extent of intelligent computing and real-time big data analytic. As a result of the study, the deficiencies that may arise in each layer for the smart hospital design model and the factors that should be taken into account to eliminate them are explained. It is expected to provide a road map to managers, system developers, and researchers interested in optimization of the design of the smart hospital system.

Today, rapidly developing technological innovations affect and change all sectors. Health sectors are inevitably involved in a digital transformation. In this transformation, IoT technology plays an important role, which enables many devices to connect and work together. IoT basically converts systems into intelligent systems that work together using sensors, connection methods, internet protocols, databases, cloud computing and analytics as infrastructure. In this respect, it is necessary to establish the necessary technical infrastructure and establish a suitable environment for the establishment of intelligent hospitals. Finally, a capability model has been developed in order to measure digital performance of Turkey. For Turkey health sector, technology assessment report is presented based on survey results and HIMMS EMRAM data.

This study develops an Industry 5.0- and IoT-enabled roadmap for green transformation in manufacturing, with a particular focus on Turkish industry. The study combines a structured literature review, bibliometric keyword mapping based on Web of Science records, and interview-informed framework refinement drawing on the sustainability departments of five large-scale manufacturing firms operating in Türkiye. Rather than treating green transformation as a single initiative, the roadmap organizes it into five interrelated modules: emission reduction, clean and reliable energy, circular-economy mobilization, energy- and resource-efficient construction and renovation, and zero-pollution waste management. The main contribution is a five-level qualitative maturity model that shows how firms can move from compliance- and governance-based foundations to integrated, data-driven, and predictive sustainability practices. The framework clarifies which factors are foundational, enabling, or advanced at each level and is intended to be used as a practitioner checklist and strategic assessment tool rather than as a fixed quantitative scoring model. The interview insights were used to refine the sequencing of actions, identify implementation bottlenecks, and adapt the framework to the realities of Turkish manufacturing. By linking human-centric Industry 5.0 principles with operational sustainability priorities, this study offers both conceptual novelty and practical guidance for firms and policymakers seeking to align industrial upgrading with long-term environmental competitiveness.
