Prof. Dr. Michael Hausmann studied physics at Heidelberg University, received his PhD in 1988 and his habilitation degree (postdoctoral lecture qualification) in 1996. Since 2004 Michael Hausmann is Professor for Experimental Biophyscs at Heidelberg University. His research is centered on super-resolution fluorescence microscopy (localization microscopy) and the development of nano-probes (COMBO-FISH) to elucidate nano-structures and conformation changes of chromatin and membrane receptors after radiation treatment. He is author and co-author of more than 230 scientific articles in peer reviewed renowned journal and in books. He is serving as an editorial member and expert reviewer of reputed journals. Furthermore he was member of the execution board of the German Society of Biological Radiation Research (DeGBS). In 2021 Michael Hausmann was awarded by the Ullrich Hagen Award of the DeGBS.
