Anastasiia Shuba received a Master of Chemical Science degree from Voronezh State University, in 2009. The doctoral thesis was defended in 2013, and focused on the investigation of living systems, such as biosamples and food products, using piezoelectric quartz array sensors. Her main area of research is creating mass-sensitive sensors, processing their signals, and using them in clinical diagnostics. The research includes the development of new coatings for sensors, investigation of their sorption properties on piezoelectric quartz, the mathematical modeling of signals to assess the presence of specific volatile compounds in the gas phase over the sample, and the estimation of the stability of the sensor array. The research also includes the development of a drift correction algorithm and the application of multivariate data analysis methods to sensor signal processing. Today, she is an Assistant Professor at the Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies in the Physical and Analytical Chemistry Department and is the Chair of the Young Scientist Union at the University.
