Adelaine Kwun-Wai Leung, Ph.D., is a faculty member in the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan. Adelaine obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in the Department of Biochemistry at McMaster University, where she first obtained her protein crystallography training with Dr. Albert Berghuis. After spending two years working as a research assistant in Dr. David Borhani’s laboratory, she pursued her Ph.D. in Dr. Kiyoshi Nagai’s laboratory at the MRC-LMB determining the structure of the core domain of U4 snRNP. To gain more knowledge in in vivo methodologies, Adelaine joined Dr Edward Kravitz’s lab at the Department of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School to study the neural mechanisms of innate behaviours in Drosophila. Adelaine’s laboratory is interested in understanding how molecular structures facilitate the development and functioning of neural circuits that govern behaviours.
