Thiago is interested in the impacts of climate variability and land-use change on land–atmosphere exchanges of CO2, H2O, and energy. He also seeks to understand how ecosystem responses to global change can influence future climate change. He combines micrometeorological measurements in the field with remote sensing and modeling to investigate land–atmosphere interactions across a range of spatial and temporal scales, with emphasis on tropical Savanah (Cerrado) and Pantanal wetland.
