Dr. Peijing Rong focuses on the modernization of acupuncture research through interdisciplinary approaches and systems engineering, particularly its brain mechanisms and innovative therapies. She is a Chief Research Fellow at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and the Director of its Institute of Basic Research in Clinical Medicine. She is also honoured as a Qihuang Scholar, a title of a leading expert in the field of TCM research.
