Biography

.V. Grebennikova is a specialist in the fields of epidemiology, molecular virology, and molecular diagnostics. She established a system of infectious genomes for RNA viruses to identify genetic determinants of virulence and to develop diagnostic and preventive tools. Under her leadership, direct-acting antiviral drugs are being developed. She has developed over 40 PCR- and ELISA-based test systems; 30 of these are currently used in practice for virus typing, determining resistance to antiviral drugs, and detecting infectious prions. Utilizing recombinant technologies, she has led the development and implementation of vaccines, three of which have received registration certificates from the Ministry of Health. T.V. Grebennikova received her Candidate of Sciences degree in 1995 and her Doctor of Sciences degree in 2006; she was awarded the academic title of Professor in 2010. Twelve Candidate of Sciences dissertations have been successfully defended under her supervision. In 2016, she was awarded the title of "Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences" (RAS) and elected a Corresponding Member of the RAS. Since 2019, she has headed the Center for Quality Control of Immunobiological Medicinal Products at the N.F. Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology (Ministry of Health of Russia). Since 2023, she has served as Deputy Director for Research at the D.I. Ivanovsky Institute Virology. She is the author of over 350 scientific publication.
