Ruzanna Djavadian, PhD, obtained their D.Sc. (habilitation) from the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS, Warsaw, in Neurobiology in 2005. Since 1994, they have been an employee of the Nencki Institute and are interested in the neurobiology of development, with a focus on the mechanisms of normal brain development; this includes genetic programs for the development of important axonal pathways and the disturbance of brain development due to genetic factors that may lead to anatomical and physiological anomalies. Over the years, they have supervised four Ph.D. students and are currently overessing one in progress. Since 2012, they have been an Executive Editor of Acta Neurobiologiae Experimentalis, and they have been awarded the following for research: Team Science Award - II Division of Biology, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw (2005); Silver Cross of Merit Polish Civil State Award, Warsaw (2008); Team Science Award - II Division of Biology, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw (2018).
