Roland Croner is one of the most experienced experts in Germany in the field of minimally invasive and robotic-assisted liver and cancer surgery. He is currently a Klinikdirektor at Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg. He worked at the University Hospital of Heidelberg from 1998 to 2001 and then at the University Hospital of Erlangen, most recently as senior physician in the surgical clinic and responsible head of the liver and pancreas transplant program. His surgical training took him to leading centers in the USA, Japan, and Korea as well as to several European countries. In addition to several additional qualifications, such as rescue services, emergency medicine, and other specialties, he completed a master’s degree (M.A.) in “Management of Hospital and Social Facilities”. His scientific focus is on the development of individual surgical therapies within the framework of multimodal, interdisciplinary treatment concepts for patients with cancer. This includes examining molecular signatures in tumor tissue and blood to assess the aggressiveness of tumors, which is of great benefit for individualizing therapy.
