This paper focuses on the design and realization of the advanced system for consumption meters state recognition. In this context, it means a variable volume flow meter, which shows the consumption of the value. The developed advanced system is based on the image signal recognition, thus display status reading of the consumption meters by the camera. There is described a unique solution that was given to the Patent Office of the Czech Republic. The specific structure of the hardware solutions and implemented recognition algorithms enables to realize extremely low cost device, with wireless connection to the user interface implemented on the cell phone platform with SMS text messages and personal computer application.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5755/j01.eee.18.10.3062

The main objective of this paper is to show new possibilities of wireless communication for mobile robotic and industrial units in the real time. The means of using wireless communication networks based on parallel processing and data transfer for various network topologies are discussed here. We have been focusing our research on ultra low power communication chips based on frequency 2.4 GHz. Furthermore we have shown procedures for creation of the network communication nodes with multiple inputs and multiple outputs. The nodes are designed as embedded mobile devices. With regards to data transfer communication there are modulation, security and protocols presented. The contribution shows similar problems that can possibly occur when we use multiple transfer sources at the same time on the close area, which is quite difficult to avoid when we design embedded devices.

The approach to development methods which are described in paper allows possibility extension for minimizing costs and widely external hardware industrial control systems utilization. There is described development method of control applications by industrial WinPLC/WinPAC and REX control compiler in comparison to classical development methods that need expensive RT measurement cards and produce only one purpose development solution. The project is based on specification of development process of designed control schemas of prepared applications to an industrial utilization by direct connection and implementation to the chosen control system WinPLC/WinPAC. Paper deals with a way how to produce a solution for control applications that are prepared, designed and implemented in MATLAB-Simulink to the target platform. The multiplatform control system REX is used as a bridge between MATLAB and target platform.

This paper deals with modeling and simulation of important part of a generating block within the frame of Flexible Energy System (FES), particularly furnace, evaporator, mixing header, pipeline, reheater/superheater and turbine. Mathematical model of a reheater/superheater is described in detail in order to demonstrate how the problem is solved and why Matlab & Simulink environment has been chosen, using its powerful S-functions, while other parts of the generating blocks are handled in the same way. It also explains general choice of the software as well as differences between M and C S-functions. Finally it gives a brief description of possibilities of implementation of designed models and algorithms on specific hardware, performing a real-time operation.
