Jie Jiang's life-term interest is combating cancer. She is using hematological malignancy models to investigate how cancer cells and their normal counterparts adapt to and survive in metabolic stress conditions. Understanding this process can facilitate developing potential strategies for cancer targeting in the metabolic stress context. Jie Jiang currently works at the Department of Pediatrics, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Jie does research in the field of cancer metabolism. Their most recent publications are 'Starve Cancer Cells of Glutamine: Break the Spell or Make a Hungry Monster?" and "Promoter demethylation of the asparagine synthetase gene is required for an ATF4-dependent adaptation to asparagine depletion", and "Asparagine, a Metabolite to be Targeted in Cancers".
