Prof. Dr. Joana Barbosa Melo is currently an Associate Professor with Aggregation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal. She is the Head of the International and Interinstitutional Relations Office at the FMUC and ERASMUS Departmental Coordinator of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine. She is an Integrated member of the CIBB consortium Center for Innovative Biomedicine and Biotechnology in the group “Human Genome Variation and Environment” and iCBR/CIMAGO. She is a Member of the Scientific Council of the FMUC. Her research is in the scope of cytogenetics and genomics, mainly in neurodevelopmental and oncological diseases.
