Change detection (CD) aims to identify the differences between multitemporal images acquired over the same geographical area at different times. With the advantages of requiring no cumbersome labeled change information, unsupervised CD has attracted extensive attention of researchers. Multitemporal images tend to have different resolutions as they are usually captured at different times with different sensor properties. It is difficult to directly obtain one pixelwise change map for two images with different resolutions, so current methods usually resize multitemporal images to a unified size. However, resizing operations change the original information of pixels, which limits the final CD performance. This article aims to detect changes from multitemporal images in the originally different resolutions without resizing operations. To achieve this, a cross-resolution difference learning method is proposed. Specifically, two cross-resolution pixelwise difference maps are generated for the two different resolution images and fused to produce the final change map. First, the two input images are segmented into individual homogeneous regions separately due to different resolutions. Second, each pixelwise difference map is produced according to two measure distances, the mutual information distance and the deep feature distance, between image regions in which the pixel lies. Third, the final binary change map is generated by fusing and binarizing the two cross-resolution difference maps. Extensive experiments on four datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method for detecting changes from different resolution images.

Recently, the autoencoder (AE) based method plays a critical role in the hyperspectral anomaly detection domain. However, due to the strong generalised capacity of AE, the abnormal samples are usually reconstructed well along with the normal background samples. Thus, in order to separate anomalies from the background by calculating reconstruction errors, it can be greatly beneficial to reduce the AE capability for abnormal sample reconstruction while maintaining the background reconstruction performance. A memory‐augmented autoencoder for hyperspectral anomaly detection (MAENet) is proposed to address this challenging problem. Specifically, the proposed MAENet mainly consists of an encoder, a memory module, and a decoder. First, the encoder transforms the original hyperspectral data into the low‐dimensional latent representation. Then, the latent representation is utilised to retrieve the most relevant matrix items in the memory matrix, and the retrieved matrix items will be used to replace the latent representation from the encoder. Finally, the decoder is used to reconstruct the input hyperspectral data using the retrieved memory items. With this strategy, the background can still be reconstructed well while the abnormal samples cannot. Experiments conducted on five real hyperspectral anomaly data sets demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method.

The polynomial regression method is employed to calculate the relationship of device color space and CIE color space for color characterization, and the performance of different expressions with specific parameters is evaluated. Firstly, the polynomial equation for color conversion is established and the computation of polynomial coefficients is analysed. And then different forms of polynomial equations are used to calculate the RGB and CMYK’s CIE color values, while the corresponding color errors are compared. At last, an optimal polynomial expression is obtained by analysing several related parameters during color conversion, including polynomial numbers, the degree of polynomial terms, the selection of CIE visual spaces, and the linearization.

Person reidentification is a hot topic in the computer vision field. Many efforts have been paid on modeling a discriminative distance metric. However, existing metric-learning-based methods are a lack of generalization. In this article, the poor generalization of the metric model is argued as the biased estimation problem that the independent identical distribution hypothesis is not valid. The verification experimental result shows that there is a sharp difference between the training and test samples in the metric subspace. A semisupervised consistent projection metric-learning method is proposed to ease the biased estimation problem by learning a consistent constrained metric subspace in which the identified pairs are forced to follow the distribution of the positive training pairs. First, a semisupervised method is proposed to generate potential matching pairs from the ${k}$ -nearest neighbors of test samples. The potential matching pairs are used to estimate the distances’ distribution center of the positive test pairs. Second, the metric subspace is improved by forcing this estimation to be close to the center of the positive training pairs. Finally, extensive experiments are conducted on five datasets and the results demonstrate that the proposed method reaches the best performance, especially on the rank-1 identification rate.

Camouflaged object detection (COD), with the task of separating the camouflaged object from its color/texture similar background, has been widely used in the fields of medical diagnosis and military reconnaissance. However, the COD task is still a challenging problem due to two main difficulties: large scale-variation for different camouflaged objects, and extreme similarity between the camouflaged object and its background. To address these problems, a cross-level interaction network based on scale-aware augmentation (CINet) for the COD task is proposed. Specifically, a scale-aware augmentation module (SAM) is firstly designed to perceive the scales information of the camouflaged object by calculating an optimal receptive field. Furthermore, a cross-level interaction module (CLIM) is proposed to facilitate the interaction of scale information at all levels, and the context of the feature maps is enriched accordingly. Finally, with the purpose of fully utilizing these features, we design a dual-branch feature decoder (DFD) to strengthen the connection between the predictions at each level. Extensive experiments performed on four COD datasets, e.g., CHAMELEON, CAMO, COD10K, and NC4K, demonstrate the superiority of the proposed CINet compared with 21 existing state-of-the-art methods.

With the development of Earth observation technology, more multisource remote sensing (RS) images are obtained from various satellite sensors and significantly enrich the data source of change detection (CD). However, the utilization of multisource bitemporal images frequently introduces challenges during featuring or representing the various physical mechanisms of the observed landscapes and makes it more difficult to develop a general model for homogeneous and heterogeneous CD adaptively. In this article, we propose an adaptive spatial-spectral transformer change detection network based on spectral token guidance, named STCD-Former. Specifically, a spectral transformer with dual-branch first encodes the diverse spectral sequence in spectral-wise to generate a corresponding spectral token. And then, the spectral token is used as guidance to interact with the patch token to learn the change rules. More significantly, to optimize the learning of difference information, we design a difference amplification module to highlight discriminative features by adaptively integrating the difference information into the feature embedding. Finally, the binary CD result is obtained by multilayer perceptron (MLP). The experimental results on three homogeneous datasets and one heterogeneous dataset have demonstrated that the proposed STCD-Former outperforms the other state-of-the-art methods qualitatively and visually.
