Prof. Mayavan Viji was born in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India. He received his B.Sc. degree from Periyar Arts College, University of Madras, and his M.Sc. in Chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University. He completed his Ph.D. (2013) in organic heterocyclic chemistry at the University of Hyderabad, India, under the supervision of Prof. R. Nagarajan. After that, he became a post-doctoral fellow under the mentorship of Prof. Jae-Kyung Jung at the College of Pharmacy, Chungbuk National University, Cheongju, South Korea. Currently, he is working as an invited associate professor at the same university. His research interest includes asymmetric synthesis, metal-free synthesis, and medicinal chemistry.
