Dr. Johannes Rieger works at the Austrian metallurgical competence center K1-MET leading project activities in the Research Area "Metallurgical Process Efficiency and Circularity" (characterization and utilization of raw materials and treatment of residues from ferrous and copper metallurgy, secondary metallurgical operations  and continuous casting of steel). He studied at the Montanuniversitaet Leoben (Austria) whereas his university education is based on process technology with a focus on industrial environmental protection. His PhD thesis concentrated on the pollutant formation during thermal Blast Furnace Gas utilization.
