Hafizah Pushiri is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Environment, Faculty of Forestry and Environment, Universiti Putra Malaysia. She received her Ph.D. from the Research School of Chemistry, Australian National University. Her Ph.D. project was on the mechanism of hexachlorocyclohexane degrading gene, linA, under the supervision of Dr. John Oakeshott and Dr. Gunjan Pandey of Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, CSIRO Black Mountain. Her research interest includes biodegradation and bioremediation of environmental pollutants, environmental microbiology and biofuel. She is a member of the American Society for Microbiology.
