Karen Bolaños holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and PhD. on Molecular Physical Chemistry from Universidad Andres Bello, Chile. Karen does research in synthesis of anisotropic photothermal gold nanostructures, and hybrid protein-nanomaterials for spatially and temporally controlled release, in collaboration beween the Advanced Center for the study of Chronic Diseases (ACCDIS), nanobiotechnology laboratory from Universidad de Chile, nanotechnology laboratory of Universidad Andrés Bello and peptides and proteins laboratory from the Institute of Biomedical Research of Barcelona (IRB Barcelona)
