Anna De Filippis is an associate Professor at the Department of Experimental Medicine - Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology Section - of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” and qualifies Associated Professor 06/A3 - MICROBIOLOGY AND CLINICAL MICROBIOLOGY V session On 2000 took the degree in Biological Science, at the University of Naples, Federico II in 2000 and graduated with a PhD in Microbiology in 2006. From 2004 to 2019, she received various grants and contracts at the Department of Experimental Medicine, Microbiology Section, University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli”, as well as at the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production (Section of Infectious Diseases) and the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Naples “Federico II”. Her research focuses on the complex interactions between microorganisms and host cells, particularly analyzing bacterial virulence factors, the molecular mechanisms underlying bacterial adhesion, invasion, and apoptosis, signal transduction, and immunomodulation. In addition, she focuses her attention on interaction betwwen emerging and re-emerging viruses and host, trought discovery of new antiviral treatment based on viral fusion proteins. She has also researched natural molecules of microbial origin that inhibit the cell proliferation of different types.
