Wei Lee received his M.S. degree in electro-optical engineering from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Taiwan in 1987 and his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1993. He held a visiting assistant professorship at the University of Toledo (1994–1997) and later joined Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan (1997–2012). Since 2012, he has been a professor at NCTU, now National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) after its 2021 merger. A Fellow of SPIE and Optica, he has served as an editor and leader in international optical and liquid crystal societies. Dr. Lee’s current research focuses on liquid crystal photonics and label-free biosensors.
